Harford Road Band. A group of local Baltimore Musicians playing Traditional Irish Music. We are found playing local sessions, ceili's, concerts and various performances in the Mid-Atlantic area. Often as mix-n-match bands.

In many towns around the world, you can find Traditional Irish Music being played in restaurants, pubs, at Ceilis (Social Dance) and concert performances. The tunes and songs are passed down, and are enjoyed week after week at these music gatherings.

When many first listen to the Irish Music, they often feel the tunes all sound the same. Similar can be said for amost styles of music. But the more you listen, you can hear distinctions. The common types/rhythms of the tunes are:

These are typical instruments found at a Session. Some Sessions are very strict as to what instruments and how many are played, and others are more open - it depends on the Session leader and those playing.

These are in vaious settings and by performers of a range of ages and skill levels. We wish to show the fun and variety of the music culture. We hope you enjoy these video snips.
